Pancake playdough recipe with lemon peel
sprinkles!
Roll, cut, flip and stack doughy rounds and enjoy your Shrove Tuesday's otherwise
batter filled day! Use the juice of a lemon as part of the doh's recipe
and freshly grated rind to add scent and texture to the surface of the dough
as it's moulded and served.
If you happen to grow lemon verbena in the garden, the leaves and a
pair of scissors add a new dimension to the activities.

Lemon playdough recipe ingredients
|
- 250g plain flour
- 100g salt
- Juice of 1 lemon made up to 200ml with water
- Rind/peel of lemon to sprinkle over the cooked dough
- 30ml olive or baby oil
- 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
- yellow food colouring
- fragrance oil (optional)
- fragrance free moisturiser (optional)
- Ground cinnamon (optional)
Combine all the
ingredients in a saucepan except the rind and cook until a firm dough forms
and it leaves the side of the pan cleanly.
Leave to cool then knead until smooth, add the moisuriser ad this point to
improve the doughs elasticity and avoid some of the drying effect the salt
may have on children's hands..
Fro texture and scent, sprinkle over the lemon peel and dust the surface
with cinnamon.
