Wiggly worm playdough rolls of soft pink and brown
dough are an excellent way to explore the work these awesome little creatures
do for the soil and our garden plants, and also as an animal that hibernates
through the coldest months of the year waiting for the ground to thaw. The
printable playdough mats below enable children to count, sort and explore
a variety of different quantities using mathmatical language that helps
to support their numeracy skills; adding more, taking away, making bigger,
smaller, sharing out and matching wiggly worms to totals. To make, print
the soil patches and place a number disc at the centre of each one, laminate
and use as collection points for the worms that children make.
